The World We Want

Jun 15, 2022 | News & Updates

As the landscape returns to green and farmers are busy sowing seeds, the NFF is also in a period of growth and change. We know that we are facing intersecting crises that threaten our food systems, and that food sovereignty offers us a path forward by rooting us in sustainability, equity, and justice. These past couple of years of living through a global pandemic exposed the dangers of corporate capture and overreliance on global supply chains. But they also taught us about resilience, caring for one another, and the power of community. I am thankful for the commitment that the National Farmers Foundation and our partners at the National Farmers Union (NFU) have made to systemic change to meet the needs of farmers, communities, and the planet.

We know that when we work together we can make change to create the world we want. The NFF and the NFU are embarking on a new shared initiative to do just that. We are asking for your support to help us build regional capacity for community organizing and engagement to support farmer-centered, agroecological farm and food systems that advance food sovereignty and rural development. Every gift we receive helps to strengthen the voice of farmers across the country by supporting policy research and communication, education, and advocacy, with a focus on local and regional issues. If you are in the position to make a donation, please consider helping to sustain our work at this crucial time.

Your donation can be made in several ways. You can:

✓ send a cheque addressed to the National Farmers Foundation through the mail to:
2717 Wentz Ave
Saskatoon, SK
S7K 4B6
*Please indicate on the subject line that you are donating to the “World We Want”

✓ donate online once or on a monthly basis through our website

Half of the funds raised through this campaign will stay in the regions to support local organizing efforts. You may direct your donation to the region of your choice or allow the NFU to determine where funds are to be allocated based on maximizing the impact of the funding.

As a Registered Canadian Charity (# 882622368 RR0001), The National Farmers Foundation will issue official tax receipts for all donations of $10 or more.

Please know how much we appreciate your support. Together, we can build the world we want.

With gratitude,

Wyanne Sandler
Coordinator, National Farmers Foundation
